Project II: Contextual Fit

For this project the goal is to add an extension to a house known as the Smith House. The Smith House was designed by Richard Meier in 1965. The client has asked while adding the extension to the house he would like to keep the architectural integrity to the house.

Narrative:

Mr. and Mrs. Smith are current owners of the Smith house located on the shore of the Long Island sound. They are now looking for an extension to the house but are looking to keep the integrity of the original design. They love spending time with their family and friends and are looking for a big living room to spend time inside while having a nice view to the water and easy access to a nice deck outside. They are also looking for a big master bedroom with a big bathroom and walk in closet all being accessed from the bedroom. They would also like to include an exercise room so the family can stay in shape.
